Hash 754 - North of Kepi i Rodonit
HARES: No Fault, Fuzzy Therapist, and E.T.
DESCRIPTION: A great beach hash on the north side of Kepi i Rodonit, with possible visits to two churches.
DIRECTIONS: Drive west toward Durres, past Vore. Take the exit to Gjiri i Lalsit (watch for the sign just past Vore). Follow the paved road to the Shen Pjeter (St. Peter) village. At the village, continue straight (instead of turning left towards Gjiri i Lalsit) towards the village of Biza. The ride from the turnoff should take about 30 minutes. One of the hares will meet you at the village of Biza. There will be a hike set up that (hopefully) will take us to a couple of churches.

The road for this hash was as difficult to find as last year, if not worse. If you want to get to the Shen 'Ndoi church and the castle of Skanderbeg's sister, Mamica (pronounced as if written Mum-mi-tsa in english), at the peninsula, you need a 4x4 car and a good sense of humour.
At the end of the paved road towards Gjiri i Lalsit, you reach a T-junction, where the left turn takes you to the beach. Take the right road through several villages, asking for the village of Biza (staying generally on the right of several intersections). Once you get to Biza, you need to ask for directions to the Church of Shen 'Ndoi (taking the left of several forks in the road). The off-road adventure lasts about 25km, but can take 45 minutes to an hour by car. Rolling green hills and specks of blue on one or both sides are a constant.
Once at the small bay where the church is, you can walk along the coast towards the peninsula tip and around it to some beautiful white sand beaches. Another option is to climb to the top where a small lighthouse is and enjoy the breathtaking view.
Good luck to those who try next time - it is worth the effort.
