Please see the writeup for hash 714 last October, and especially read the excellent comment by Kirsten and Stefan.
We discovered this site by accident. On an earlier hash, we saw a cave in the mountain and a few of us returned the following day to see if we could find a trail to it. As we went up the mountain toward the cave, we encountered an old villager and his sons cutting wood. We asked if we were on the right trail to the cave. The villager told us the cave we were heading for was not very interesting and offered to take us to another one nearby. He dropped his ax and spent the next hour leading us to the "Good Cave," as it was known to the locals. The villager explained that many years ago, a shepherd was caught in a storm and sought shelter in the cave, where he had a religious revelation. Since then, the villagers climb to the cave on May 5th, the anniversary of the revelation, to celebrate.
On the way back, the villager invited us to his home, where he and his daughter fed us walnuts, coffee, and raki, as Kirsten and Stefan described in their experience.
Please consider bringing something for this family as you pass their house - perhaps some cookies, chocolates, or candies. Maybe they will invite you in for coffee!
But heed my warning: if they offer you raki, be careful how much you drink! You still have to get down the mountain!
