Mismanagement Decision

Today on April 15, 2010 the hash Mismanagement team voted on one voice in full majority of votes that during the hash there will be a mandatory paying fee of
200 Lek, that will supply hashers with beer, water and other soft drinks during the hash.

This verdict is mandatory for the hash until new voting will be made. For who is new to hash this was used to be made even before but in absence of a leader to gather up officers and organize the hash the proper way most of you during this last months missed this part.

NOTICE: This fee is valid for you if you attend the hash, Web made voting it is not valid, you have to be physically present and active into hash to say your word. If contrary to this decision made by the team and Hashmaster, please do come to the hash this Saturday and during the circle up your voice will be heard if your reasons are right, also we have to warn you that any decision made by majority will remain active until further notice.

Our best advice is to listen to Hash elders and quote that decision as in your best interest and commodity during hash.

The hash mismanagement team wishes you best experience during this hash.

I am perplexed to read that, in the circle, "your voice will be heard if your reasons are right". Who decides whether reasons are right, and on what basis?

I agree 100% with Helmuth's comment, and I would like to pick on certain points here:

>>there will be a mandatory paying fee of 200 Lek

* How did we come up with this number? How many people agreed on this, web- or otherwise?
* What happens to newcomers, do they have to pay too? If not, for how many times? And how do we verify that a person has not been to the hash before?

>>This verdict is mandatory for the hash until new voting will be made.

* When will this new voting be made?
* Who, or how many people can ask for a voting to be made?

>>this was used to be made even before...in absence of a leader
>>to gather up officers and organize the hash the proper way
>>most of you during this last months missed this part.

* What is the proper way? Is it the way we want, or is it the way they do it in Timbuktu?
* This procedure was never in place during the last three years. Not in a single hash. If it was in place before that, what were the reasons it was abolished for three years, and did those reasons cease to exist?

On a side note, the hash has always had leaders, even when they did not have a badge. Guys and girls, you know who you are: thank you from my heart!

>>also we have to warn you that any decision made by majority will remain active until further notice.

* Who is the majority? The people who show up today out of 50 hashes in a year will decide what all the others will do? What about if someone is abroad this month, but otherwise comes to every hash. Will you take his or her vote? How?
* Do newcomers have a right of vote in this process? Should the more regular hashers' word have more weight?

>>Our best advice is to listen to Hash elders
>>and quote that decision as in your best interest and commodity during hash.

* While I do respect your wish to protect our interests, I believe that we know them much better and can protect them ourselves. Nobody in the hash needs "taking by the hand", thank you very much. We are adult enough as to understand people's reasons even when we disagree with them, and to play by the rules even when they are against our interests. But only when everyone who has a say has been asked. Not just those who happened to have free time today and came to the hash. Not just those who found a car and could therefore come.

The hash has been part of people's lives for 14 years. It will not disappear tomorrow. You have all the time to sort out these questions before taking concrete actions. Otherwise what you are proposing is a dictatorship. Benevolent one, of course, but still a dictatorship.

>>The hash mismanagement team wishes you best experience during this hash.

* Thank you for flying with "Tirana Hash Airways" :)
