Making Life Worth It--The Last HASH at Erzeni

Wasn't the last HASH great? The sun came out after weeks of rain and cold and it was so great to be out of the smoggy air and noise of Tirana. The trail was well marked and not very difficult - aside from a few slippery NARROW spots along the aquaduct when my heart sank a few times as my 5 year old was hopping on one foot and eating a cookie and balancing!

The best reward was the waterfall at the end. You could hear it, then smell it, then taste it, then feel the mist and then SEE it finally. IT was amazing. I also enjoyed the view of the river along the way and the way the sun hit the river and the valley on the way back. It was perfect.

I was fortunate to meet some new faces and to be amazed at the Egyptian Ambassador there with her walking stick hiking strongly and taking pictures. She was great. I know much younger people who don't even make an effort to get out and see the lovely nature here. Poor them!

Many thanks to the organisers. The HASH makes life worth living in Tirana and is much better to spend a day hiknig than schmoozing with those people who panic to go to Barri or Montenegro every few weeks as Albania makes them crazy. Take a HASH and you will appreciate real beauty, a good workout, and nice people.

On On.....and do have a look at the photos I posted, they are under RECENT COMMENTS box entitled HASH 725 ERZENI.
